Hicks Logistics are not Feeling Sheepish! 8:04 15/09/2015
They have brightened the streets of Bristol through the summer.
Now, a total of 128 Shaun the Sheep models have been transported to Covent Garden by Hicks Logistics.
Proving that we are capable of carrying any type of load, our 7 Artic vehicles were loaded with these multi-coloured models before setting off in a convoy to London.
The colourful Shaun the Sheep figures, all painted differently by individual artists, have been on display around Bristol throughout the summer, with some resembling characters such as a roman soldier and a pirate.
After an exhibition in Covent Garden the transport team took the sheep back to Bristol where they were auctioned off for Charity.
On Thursday 8th October at The Mall Cribbs Causeway in Bristol, all 120 Shaun in the City sculptures went under the hammer in an auction hosted by acclaimed Sotheby’s auctioneer Tim Wonnacott.
They raising a fantastic £1,087,900 for The Grand Appeal and Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity to support sick children across the UK
All funds raised from the 50 sculptures that featured on the Shaun in the City London trail in spring will benefit Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity, to help provide life-saving medical equipment, free family accommodation, arts, music and play therapy programmes and sensory equipment and facilities for children in hospitals across the UK.
The funds raised by the sculptures will help The Grand Appeal to double the family accommodation currently provided at Bristol Children’s Hospital and St Michael’s Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, to help provide a lifeline for more families of seriously ill children at an extremely difficult time in their lives. The expansion will mean that more families will be able to stay close to their sick children, free of charge, for as long as they need to. The money raised will also support the expansion of the paediatric intensive care unit, to ensure it has the life-saving medical equipment and pioneering facilities it needs to treat sick children from an ever growing area.
Hicks Logistics were proud to provide a complete transport solution for this project.
